Profile of West Sumatra Province

The composition as it illustrates that the age dependency ratio ( RKU ) ; particularly young age is still relatively high . Economic dependency by means of productive age population ( 15-64 years ) classified as severe . In 2002 RKU amounted to 61.8 ( 62 ) at a young age dependency ratio of 53.31 . That figure shows that every 100 inhabitants of productive age ( 15-64 years ) in West Sumatra will bear the economic burden of the soul as much as 62 and 53 were not productive life including the young population .
